Buying a holiday home is an exciting step. It’s about having somewhere to escape to, making memories with family and friends, and enjoying a place you can return to weekend after weekend, year after year.

But it’s also a big financial commitment, so choosing the right park, really matters.

For us at Bank Farm Properties & Leisure, being a proud member of the Holiday and Residential Parks Association (HARPA) is something we’re keen to talk about, because it helps give owners extra peace of mind.

So, What Is HARPA?

HARPA is a UK-wide organisation that represents holiday, touring and residential parks across the country. Its members include around 3,000 parks across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, from small family-run businesses like ours to larger park groups operating multiple sites.

As HARPA themselves describe it:

“The Holiday and Residential Parks Association (HARPA) is the largest UK-wide trade association representing the owners and managers of holiday, touring and residential parks.
HARPA’s mission is to be the leading voice for UK parks, supporting the industry to succeed through specialist advice, raising standards and effective advocacy.
Its vision is a strong, sustainable and well-respected parks industry, at the heart of rural and coastal communities, where people, businesses and economies thrive together, and more people experience the wonder of life in parks.
Each member signs up to HARPA’s Articles of Association, ensuring they uphold the highest industry standards.
We provide advice and guidance and promote best practice to park-owning members. We also lobby Government on key policy issues, ensuring the voice of the UK parks industry is heard.”

What HARPA Membership Means for Us

Being part of HARPA is not just a badge on our website. It represents a commitment we’ve made as a business.

It means we are part of an organisation that encourages park operators to maintain high standards, share best practice, and stay informed about changes affecting the industry.

For us, it reinforces what we already believe in:

  • Running well-managed, well-maintained parks
  • Treating owners fairly and transparently
  • Investing in our facilities and surroundings
  • Operating responsibly as a family-run business

It also means we are part of a wider professional community of park operators who take their responsibilities seriously.

More Than Just a Membership

We don’t see HARPA as something passive, it’s something we actively engage with.

A great example of this was when we recently hosted the HARPA Heart of England Branch meeting at Bank Farm Holiday Park on Tuesday 21st July 2026.

We welcomed fellow park owners and HARPA members to our site, shared updates on our parks and recent improvements, and took part in discussions about the challenges and opportunities facing the industry.

We value these events because they give us the chance to learn from others, share our own experiences, and continue improving what we do here at Bank Farm Properties & Leisure.

Running a family business means you’re always looking for ways to do things better, and being part of HARPA helps support that mindset.

How This Benefits Our Owners

For our holiday home owners, HARPA membership is part of the wider reassurance that they are dealing with a responsible, established park operator.

It doesn’t replace the importance of visiting a park, meeting the team, and understanding how everything works – but it does sit alongside those things as another indicator of how we operate.

Most importantly, it reflects our commitment to:

  • Clear communication
  • Fair and consistent management
  • Ongoing investment in our parks
  • A long-term approach to ownership

We know that buying a holiday home is a big decision, and we want our owners to feel confident not just on day one, but for many years to come.
